PARKING LOT REPORT
It is only a few hours since this happening in los Angeles, and it is already up on encycmet.com. I would like to thank Mike in California for good help. So, what's the story? Metallica was invited to perform at the "VH1 music award" and you know the guys, they always have to do something different. Metallica played at the parking lot outside for 200 fans and fanclub members, instead of playing inside in front of other celebrities.
Mike reports: Definately a unique show. The set: Make it look like a bunch of people
showed up in their cars and on their motorcycles, and just decided to rock
out. People in front of the cars, amongst the cars, and all around the
stage. MAYBE 200 total. Jason, coming out and signing autographs beforehand
while people waited in line (got him to sign a guitar pickguard, my friend
got him to sign a drum head), of course. We get in there, waited a while,
and were told, 5 minutes away. Then, a slight hitch, Metallica had won an
award (Best Stage Spectacle), now we would be about 15 minutes away. All the
wait was worth it though, when they finally hit the stage. Opening with a
warm-up of the cover, "So What!". After a guitar check for Jaymz, they
started playing "Fade to Black", only to be stopped in mid-song, to be told,
"Live in 60 seconds." All the suspense as to what they would play ended when
finally, we were live, and they started up "Fade to Black", once again. It
rocked out, they thanked the fans, and that was that. Can't wait to see how
my pictures came out, and to get my pickguard mounted for hanging. This 45
bucks for the fan club registration, is the best 45 bucks I have ever spent.
I've only been in for 4 months, and already, a show like this, and I was able
to get a guest in.
Metallica also won an award, click here for details.
Thanks to Mike, Jose Atilio Murga and [email protected]
